Reception & Check-in Information

Please note that our physical reception is mostly closed during the low season or when hotel occupancy is low. However, our digital reception is available 24/7 via WhatsApp or email.

For check-in when the reception is closed, you will receive check-in instructions, including a PIN code, to access your room. This information will be sent to you either a day before or on the day of your arrival. Please keep an eye on your inbox or WhatsApp for these details.

  • Check-in

    Please inform us in advance of your expected check-in time. If you do not provide this information, we cannot guarantee check-in outside official hours.

    Check-out

    Check-out is required by 11:00 AM. Late check-out is possible for an additional fee—please inform the hotel in advance. Failure to notify the hotel may result in a surcharge, including the full room rate of the day.

    Early Check-out

    If the reception is unavailable and your bill is fully settled, please use the white “Check-Out Box” at the entrance/exit to deposit your key cards. Lost or unreturned key cards will incur a charge of €15 per card. Any additional charges (e.g., damages or unpaid services) will be billed with administration costs and handled via our debt collection agency. You will receive details via email, post, or phone message.

    Elevator

    An elevator is available for your convenience. Please read the safety instructions inside the lift before use.

    Free Wi-Fi

    Complimentary Wi-Fi is available throughout the hotel. The Wi-Fi password can be found on the back of your hotel room door.

    Breakfast

    • April – September: Available daily.
    • October – March: Available on weekends and public holidays only, subject to reservation and availability.

    Pets & Children

    • No pets allowed.
    • The hotel does not accept children under 7 years old due to licensing regulations.

    Parking & Bicycles

    • Parking: The hotel does not have private parking. Paid parking options are available nearby through INDIGO.
    • Bicycles: We recommend using the secured bike parking under Ostend train station.

    Non-Smoking Policy

    • Smoking is only permitted outside the hotel premises or in rooms with a balcony/terrace.
    • Tampering with smoke detectors or smoking inside the hotel triggers a silent alarm, automatically alerting authorities. This will result in a penalty of €150 to €950, payable immediately.

    Visitors, Noise & Conduct

    • To ensure a peaceful stay for all guests, please keep noise to a minimum after 10:00 PM.
    • Visitors are not allowed after 10:00 PM.
    • Exceeding the maximum room occupancy will result in a fine of €50 to €150 per additional person.
    • All fines must be settled immediately by cash or card.

    Room Access & Responsibility

    • Staff may enter your room for cleaning, emergencies, or room inspections.
    • Hotel Cardiff is not responsible for lost or stolen belongings.
    • Failure to comply with house rules may result in immediate removal from the hotel.
